Think not that I come to send peace on earth:
I came not to send peace, but a sword. -
Matthew 10:28
The sword here is the Bible, the Word of God.
"...and
the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God:..." Eph 6:17
... all they that take the sword shall perish
with the sword. - Matthew 26:52
This is a literal, metal, fighting instrument.
A common sword. Contradiction, 'POOF' gone.
For wrath killeth the foolish man... - Job
5:2
This is Eliphaz talking. Not God, not even
a prophet of God. He is called one of Job's "miserable comforters."
He gets chewed out later on in chapter 32 by Elihu, one of the 'good guys.'
... let not the sun go down on your wrath. -
Ephesians
4:26
Now here is a man of God speaking. The
complete opposite of Eliphaz. Contradiction, 'POOF', gone.
And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but He
that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.
- John 3:13
This reference in the Greek is to a future heaven.
This is very common in Jesus parables and other teachings. "Today,
I tell you, that you shall be will me in the Paradise." Future tense
here again, and in many other places. No man had at that time been
in that future heaven except Jesus.
... and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.
-
2
Kings 2:11
The Hebrew/Chaldean text here says, "into the
sky." Does not even use the word heaven. It is not even the
same physical place here. A leftover from old King James English.
400 years ago, you might have said, 'the heavens look like they are going
to rain today.' So Jesus is talking about a future place, and 2 Kings
is talking about the present sky. Contradiction, 'POOF', gone.
If I bear witness of myself, my witness is not
true. - John 5:31
I am one that bear witness of myself... -
John
8:18
[Jesus Christ was the speaker in both of these
quotes]
According to Jewish Law, you had to have TWO
or MORE witnesses for a testimony to be accepted as true. Jesus is
stating in John 5:31 that if He is the ONLY witness, then His witness is
not true. However, in John 8:18, He makes it clear that He is NOT
the only witness, thereby verifying His credentials as the Messiah.
Contradiction, 'POOF', gone.
A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children's
children... - Proverbs 13:22
Sell that ye have and give alms... - Luke
12:33
"The Proverbs of Solomon ..." This says
it all. Proverbs are man's wisdom, not God's. Sometimes man
gets it right, sometimes he does not. Proverbs is NOT 'Thus Says
God', or even a prophet of God. Solomon kept getting into trouble
because he did NOT always follow after God, but rather, after his own wisdom.
Luke 12:33 on the other hand is Jesus first hand training of His DISCIPLES.
This is NOT general advice for everyone! So, unless you are one of
those original twelve disciples that were personally called out by God,
this probably does NOT apply to you. If you think that it does apply
to you, then I have some blind and deaf for you to heal, and some dead
to raise. When can you get here?
Contradiction, 'POOF', gone.
Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord... Wealth
and riches shall be in his house... - Psalms
112:1-3
This Scripture is completely irrelevant to the
next, but let us clear something up while we are here. Every where
the old King James English says that we are supposed to 'fear' the Lord,
or 'fear' God, the word, in the Hebrew/Chaldean, and in the Greek, is 'to
revere, to reverence', NOT fear as we use the word TODAY, in modern times.
It is easier for a camel to go through the eye
of a needle, than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God. - Matthew
19:24
This is out of context. Verse 26 says in
reference to Mt 19:24, with God all things are possible. With God
all things are possible is always in regards to WHO CAN BE SAVED.
Nothing more, nothing less. Contradiction, 'POOF', gone.
I and my father are one. - John 10:30
... I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater
than I. - John 14:28
[Jesus Christ was the speaker in both of these
quotes]
Well, I am a father, son, and Spirit, and yet
I am one person. I used to be the boss of a glass and mirror cutting
area in a factory. When I was there, as the boss, I had much more
power than when I as at home. And even less power when visiting my
parents at their home :-) If you have ever read the Prince and
the Pauper, look how the power of the prince changed when he was out
dressed as a begger, and when he sat upon his thrown crowned as king. And
yet he was one and the same person.
Isa 9:6 Tells us that Jesus IS the Everlasting
Father. In His office of 'Son', he was only revealing an iota of
His Power. In His office of 'Father', He can reaveal much more of
His Power. (By the way, the word son used of Jesus does not mean
literal son, there is a separate Greek word for that, but rather, the revealed,
manifested, visible power of.)
Contradiction, 'POOF', gone.
Thou shalt not kill - Exodus
20:13
The Hebrew here says, 'You shall not MURDER.'
To take someones life for an evil and corrupt purpose, as in rape, child
molest, serial killings, etc.
Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, Put every
man his sword by his side... and slay every man his brother... - Exodus
32:27
The word 'slay' here is not the same Hebrew
word as in Ex 20:13. Also, this is taken out of context. EVERYONE
here was given a chance to stand for God, or not. No one was forced
or threatened. However, those that did not, were executed for crimes.
They had built a golden calf and worshipped it while Moses was on the mountain.
This worship commonly involved the human sacrifice of babies (burned alive
in a fire), forceable rape of men, women, children, and animals, and cannibalism.
Drug abuse was very prevalent in the golden calf worship also.
Contradiction, 'POOF', gone.
